Unbreakable (DVD) Review

Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg team up once again in the romantic comedy, The Terminal. With an out-of-the-ordinary plot and interesting characters, this is one film you will either love or hate

Taking a vacation from his home nation, the Republic of Krakozhia, Viktor Navorski (Tom Hanks) steps off his plane into the terminal at JFK International in New York. Little does he know that while his plane in flight, Krakozhia erupted in civil war - dissolving the Republic and leaving Viktor without a homeland. Because the United States has no dealings as of yet with the new nation, Viktor is literally a man without a country, and he can not leave the terminal. He can't return to Krakozhia, nor can he set foot on US soil outside the doors of the terminal.

Following the explanation of this snafu by the head of terminal security Frank Dixon (Stanley Tucci), Viktor slowly comes to realize (the language barrier is great at first) the implications of the news reported to him. Dixon's first inclination is to convince Viktor that he can make a run for it when the security detail changes shifts (but Dixon plans to have Viktor arrested outside so that the man isn't his problem). But Viktor doesn't bite. Instead, he decides to stay in the terminal, and the result is a hilarious and sometimes inspiring cacophony of events that lead Viktor to find his own way to survive.

Running out of food coupons, Viktor returns luggage carts and collects the deposits. He then uses the change to buy cheeseburgers from Burger King. But Dixon soon puts a stop to the practice by declaring that only security officials can gather the carts.

As Dixon continues to obstruct Viktor's stay, the homeless man makes friends with many of the airport personnel, builds his own dwelling, and acquires a job within the airport working as a carpenter. Along the way, he strikes up a periodic romance with airline stewardess Amelia Warren (Catherine Zeta-Jones), and he watches events unfold in his beloved Krakozhia via CNN.

When Dixon is promoted to the top position at JFK, Viktor spoils his plans with some creative interpretation on behalf of a foreign passenger detained with illegal drugs. Telling Dixon the drugs are for the man's goat, rather than his father, he is able to grant the man passage much to Dixon's dismay. In the end, Viktor reaches celebrity status among the employees and regulars of the airport terminal. When the Republic of Krakozhia is restored, they celebrate with him at the airport bar, and they help him to foil Dixon one last time so that Viktor can complete his voyage to New York City where he has a very special task to perform

A fascinating concept of "what if," The Terminal may be an implausible scenario, but it's nevertheless an entertaining one. Tom Hanks does a great job of moving Viktor's character from a man who barely speaks English to a man who is fully functional in a foreign airport terminal. Not to be confused with one of the greatest films of all time, movie buffs could still do far worse than to spend a relaxing evening watching this one.

Your sites ranking on the search engines will depend on how optimized it is with the keywords you choose and the number of competition it has. The lesser the competition for the specific keyword, the higher the chance of your site to get to the top of the search engines and the chance to make money online is significantly increased.

Another way to get visitors to your site, and this is the quickest one, is by pay per click advertising (PPC). You can try the Google adwords program, Miva and Goclick. Be very careful, however, as PPC advertising may burn your pockets and your plan to make money online would be affected. Make sure to set your daily budget when doing PPC.

New Age Music - How It's Made

Different styles of music have different "sounds." We can all pretty much agree on that point. For example, Jazz uses seventh chords almost exclusively. This, and the kind of chord progressions used in Jazz gives it its unique flavor. But what about new age music? Does it have it's own special ingredients?

Yes it does.

Now, there are no hard and fast rules here but for the most part, new age music is a consonant music. That is, there is little or noharshness going on in the music. No Saxes wailing and what not. Having said that we can eliminate most of the tense jazz chords and their voicing. So what are we left with? Mostly Major and minor chords based on the regular scales and the modes. The chord progressions are simpler and usually start on the l chord. No ll-V-l progressions here.

What about melody? In jazz, we have a soloist who usually plays a lot of chromatic notes. This is rare in new age music because it would create dissonance. New age melodies tend to be softer and more on the spiritual side. Solos, if there are any, are not so much concerned with the expression of the self than they are with letting the music express itself. A subtle but very important distinction. Jazz players may have some ego invested in their performance. New age musicians learn to let the music play them. They learn to become a channel for the music itself allowing it to speak through them. Of course, I'm not saying that this can't happen in Jazz, but, just watch a Jazz performer and you'll see what I mean.

Last but not least is rhythm. Let's do a comparison/contrast between Jazz and New Age music. Jazz has a definite discernible rhythm. It is what makes Jazz Jazz. New age music can have a pattern or an underlying rhythm to the music. It can be used to create trance like states in the listener. Drums are usually a part of Jazz music. Percussion is mostly absent from the New Age sound simply because it would not add to the atmosphere most New Age musicians create. Timing is very important to the Jazz musician. The soloist has the freedom to play whatever he wants as long as he maintains the meter and stays in time. New Age music is more elastic in that timing is there, but is not a master of the player. The New Age player can disregard time altogether.

Just listen to Zen flute music as a good example of this. Now, what does all this mean for the aspiring New Age musician? A couple of good things. It means that there is a definite new age "sound" out there. That it is here to stay and that people like and need to hear it. And it means that there are some guidelines out there for what defines the meaning of New Age music.

What do I mean? Lets say for example you sell your e-book online for $37. Maybe you have a successful guide on candle making. If you want to boost your sales and the value your customers perceive from your e-book, read the book, record it or make a couple of MP3 files your customers can download.

Incorporate this into your sales pitch. Use this as an upsell.

As soon as you add a couple of hours of audio, you can raise the price from $37 to $47 to $67. Some people wont buy from you because they are turned off by e-books. Why? They dont want to read. You solve this problem by providing an audio of your course.

Remember, people learn differently. So, some people will prefer an audio or MP3 because they dont learn well by reading.

Secret #2 Get Physical

What is the next way you can boost your profits? You can go physical. Today when people think about information marketing, they think about e-books.

The truth is e-books are simply one medium, one information product idea you can market. There are other physical products however, that can generate even more profits for you.

What types of products? DVDs, CDs, membership site, business in a box, systems, templates, software, tools there are so many things you can market besides an e-book.

So convert your winning idea into a multimedia product. Make if physical.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is they think people wont want audios and material. Thats not true. People do want physical products, other information. They want audios. Then you can double, triple or even quadruple your price.

To me, when I sell an e-book (Like my forbidden Psychological Tactics) I always have an upsell. Youll find you automatically make more money and youll reduce the risk of refunds.

People dont want a refund when you give them this much information. Sometimes its not because they dont want your product, they just want to rip you off. However, when you turn your e-book into a physical product, youll see your refund rate drops dramatically.

Your refund rate will drop from 12-14% to 2%. Why? You are adding to customer satisfaction. You are also helping other markets and people like the elderly (who may not want to read an e-book).

This type of product and service generates more rave reviews. And its easy. All you have to do is turn your product into a physical product.

Secret # 3 Create a Back-End Product

The third strategy you need to adopt to generate more profits is providing a back-end product. You see, when you are selling an e-book, you have a customer.

You should have a back-end in place, a series of auto-responders that will upsell, backend sell other products.

Most people assume they can only make money from their products. If you think like this, you will lose money. Why?

Sometimes your customers arent interested in your specific product, but they are interested in you. And they will take your advice. So if you offer them a back-end product, something someone else created, you may still make the sale.

You should have other peoples products readily available so you can make a commission on them. Just because someone doesnt buy your product doesnt mean they wont want to buy others products.

It doesnt matter if they buy your products as long as you are making money. If you have a back-end in place, you can act as an affiliate and you can sell them something someone else is offering. Use auto responders and make money. Pitch other peoples products. Make it profitable for your customers to invest, even if they dont initially invest in your product specifically.

How do you profit from the people that dont order from you? Thats how you do it.

Apply these three ideas and watch how they make you more money. Youll be pleasantly surprised by the incredible results you start realizing.
